AUSTRALIAN INSTITUTE OF PHYSICS. VICTORIAN BRANCH


The Australian Institute of Physics was founded in 1962 and incorporated in 1963, 
taking over the responsibilities and activities of the former Australian Branch of the 
Institute of Physical Sciences (London).  Its purpose is to promote the development of 
pure and applied physics; to facilitate the exchange, dissemination, and discussion of 
information and ideas relating to physics and its applications; and to express the 
views of physicists in Australia on matters relating to the science and the profession 
of physics.
