GOALS

The Foundation's goals are to:

  • promote science and technology education at all levels;
  • enhance public awareness of science and technology and its importance to national economic, social and intellectual development;
  • develop greater interaction with industry and government;
  • foster regional and international cooperation and strengthen Australia's support for research.

Specific projects have been developed by the Academy to further each of these goals. The program is open-ended and will be expanded as other projects are judged to be important.

Management

The Foundation is Chaired by Mr John Ralph, AC, FAA, and holds an Annual General Meeting in October each year. The Foundation Advisors' Committee meets immediately following the AGM to review developments and suggest new projects. The secretariat is provided by the Australian Academy of Science.
