2009 RUTH STEPHENS GANI MEDAL IN HUMAN GENETICS – CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

The Academy invites nominations for this award

The award recognises research in human genetics and honours the contribution to science in human cytogenetics by the late Ruth Stephens Gani.

Its purpose is to recognise distinguished research in human genetics, including clinical, molecular, population and epidemiological genetics and cytogenetics. It will be awarded to researchers under 40 years at the closing date, except in the case of significant interruptions to a research career. The award will be made annually and is restricted to candidates who are normally resident in Australia and for research conducted mainly in Australia.

NB – If a proposed candidate is already the recipient of an Academy award, the second award must be for a distinct, additional, body of work undertaken since the first award, and/or work in a different field.

Nominations are confidential. The nomination form and guidelines for referees' reports are available here.

Closing date: 15 September 2008
