Biographical memoir of Professor Patrick Moran
The Moran Medal recognises the contributions to science of the late
P.A.P. Moran, FAA. Its purpose is to recognise outstanding research by
scientists under 40 years at the closing date, except in the case of significant interruptions
to a research career, in one or more of the fields of applied probability,
biometrics, mathematical genetics, psychometrics and statistics.
The award is normally made every two years.
NB If a proposed candidate is already the recipient of an Academy award, the second award must be for a distinct, additional, body of work undertaken since the first award, and/or work in a different field.
