MS 024 – LYLE, Sir Thomas Ranken (1860-1944)
Physicist and Mathematician

Lyle was Professor of Natural Philosophy, University of Melbourne 1889-1914, chairman of the Board of the Melbourne Observatory 1903-44, a scientific adviser to the Naval Board 1914-18, and president of the Australian National Research Council 1929-32.
