Geologist and Explorer

Mawson was leader of the Australasian Antarctic Expedition 1911-14 and the British, Australian and New Zealand Antarctic Research Expedition 1929-31. He was Lecturer in Geology, University of Adelaide, 1905-20 and Professor of Geology and Mineralogy 1921-52.
