MS 068 – AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL RESEARCH COUNCIL
The collection consists of a number of papers of interest to the history of transfer of responsibility from the Australian National Research Council to the Australian Academy of Science 1945, 1951 and 1952. The collection was donated by R N Robertson, who was Secretary of the ANRC in 1952.
It includes the minutes of an ANRC meeting on 20 May 1945 re the future of the ANRC and the formation of an Academy; the attitude of the State Committees to the ANRC and an Academy; a memorandum on the proposed establishment of an Australian Academy of Science; resolutions from the ANRC on the proposed Academy of Science; and related correspondence.
