Eureka moments!

Remember when international phone calls were prohibitively expensive? Would you go camping without insect repellent? Imagine life without the contraceptive pill.

These are a few key scientific innovations that have changed the way we live our lives. They have all involved an Australian scientist.

The stories behind these Eureka moments, the Australian scientist involved, and what to expect over the next 50 years are captured in: Eureka moments! Highlights from 50 years of Australian science.

The exhibition has been developed by the Australian Academy of Science in collaboration with the National Museum of Australia in recognition of the Academy's 50th anniversary. It celebrates Australian science and acknowledges the role that Australian scientists have played.

The panels that make up the exhibition are shown here as PDF files. Click on each image for a larger version.
