Novel trends in systematics and collection development

This talk presents recent trends in the gathering and delivery of systematic information based on examples in the Australian National Insect Collection. Examples will be presented of ‘web-based’ taxonomic products, tools for managing specimen and species information, and potential new technologies that will be necessary to tackle the taxonomic impediment. The value of networking systematic collections will be discussed, along with options for delivering applied systematics services to end users.
