Graham Farquhar Graham Farquhar is Distinguished Professor and Head of the Environmental Biology Group at the Research School of Biological Sciences at the Australian National University. He has established an international reputation as a research leader on the interaction between plants and the environment. He developed models of photosynthesis and carbon and oxygen isotope discrimination that lead to a greater understanding of the way plants function. Graham has received a number of awards including the Gottschalk Medal for distinguished research in biological sciences in 1983; the CSIRO medal for research achievement in 1991; and the Royal Society of Tasmania R M Johnstone Memorial Medal in 2006. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of London in 1995.
