Dr Doug Cocks
Doug Cocks is a Special Research Fellow with the Division of Sustainable Ecosystems,, Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO). Following completion of a Master's degree in agricultural science at Melbourne University, he spent six years abroad engaged in teaching and research at Cambridge University and University of California. His PhD in agricultural economics is from University of California, Davis. In 1995, inspired by a frustrating period as adviser to a federal parliamentary committee examining population policy, he wrote People Policy: Australia's Population Choices (UNSW Press). It sets out the detailed cases for and against a much larger Australian population.
