Professor Philip Kuchel Philip Kuchel is Secretary for Science Policy of the Australian Academy of Science. His research has focused on metabolism, molecular diffusion and membrane transport in cells. Nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy provides him with a unique window into many dynamic events in living cells, including water transport into and out of them. Philip is McCaughey Professor of Biochemistry and an ARC Australian Professorial Fellow at the University of Sydney.
