To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the opening of the dome, the Academy asked author and historian Alan Roberts to write about its design, construction and history. Alan’s extensive research revealed previously unknown or forgotten information about the dome from numerous archival collections. Features of the dome’s architecture from its conception to construction and renovation are all shown in the book, providing insight into a remarkable building and the people who brought it to life.
The book was launched by architect Roger Pegrum and speakers included Professor Kurt Lambeck, President of the Australian Academy of Science, and Dr Alan Roberts, historian and author.
