SCIENCE AT THE SHINE DOME canberra 2 - 4 may 2007

Early-career researcher feedback from 2006

New Fellows Seminar

  • I found this extremely interesting due to the quality and wide range of topics covered.

  • A great opportunity for attendees to become familiar with the research and significance of the Academy’s New Fellows.

Awards and admission of New Fellows

  • It was good to see the quality of our young researchers and to hear the enthusiasm they have for their work.

Symposium: Recent advances in stem cell science and therapies

  • This was a real highlight. The speakers were very well chosen…I especially enjoyed being able to approach them during the tea break and at lunch.

  • Top shelf. All speakers were international experts and explained a complex, new field of research well and were unbiased by policies and politics.

Interaction with other delegates

  • This is one of the most valuable and enjoyable aspects of Science at the Shine Dome.

  • The interaction with other early-career researchers, teachers, and Fellows has prompted me to think about ways of improving my own science and teaching.

General

  • This experience has provided me with new mentors and new career goals.
  • I’d love to come back and will definitely encourage others to come.

  • Make more young scientists aware of Science at the Shine Dome.

  • This conference provided inspiration for me to aim to be a world-class scientist.
