Teachers program
The Australian Academy of Science offered a special program for teachers, outlined below, in conjunction with Science at the Shine Dome. Those who attended:
- learnt about the latest research across a range of science disciplines
- met and talk with renowned scientists and young researchers
- exchanged ideas and curriculum materials with interstate colleagues and
- participated in a education workshop.
Catholic, Independent and State education authorities were invited to send representatives. In addition, teachers who received the Australian Academy of Science Teacher Awards also attended.

Matthew Flinders Lecture and New Fellows Seminar
Professor Peter Hall FAA FRS presented the 2007 Matthew Flinders Lecture. New Academy Fellows each presented 12-minute talks about their research, followed by opportunities for questions. |

Informal dinner
Short presentations by Academy Fellows, and a chance to chat in an informal setting. |

Awards presentation
Admission of New Fellows and presentations by Award winners. |

Education Workshop
Visit to the National Zoo and Aquarium, with presentations by staff – a prelude to the Annual Symposium on higher cognition in animals. |

|
Annual dinner
Teachers were seated amongst Fellows and young researchers.
