SCIENCE AT THE SHINE DOME canberra 6 - 8 may 2009
Teachers program
The Australian Academy of Science is offering a special program for teachers, outlined below, in conjunction with Science at the Shine Dome.Those who attend will:
- learn about the latest research across a range of science disciplines
- meet and talk with renowned scientists and young researchers
- exchange ideas and curriculum materials with interstate colleagues and
- participate in an education workshop.
Catholic, independent and state education authorities have been invited to send representatives. In addition, teachers who have received Australian Academy of Science Teacher Awards will also attend.
The registration fee of $495 per person includes:
- New Fellows seminar (Wednesday 6 May)
- Dome 50th anniversary celebratory drinks and canapés (Wednesday 6 May)
- ECR and teacher’s informal dinner (Wednesday 6 May)
- Awards presentations and admission of new Fellows (Thursday 7 May)
- Education workshop to be held at Tidbinbilla Deep Space Tracking Station (Thursday 7 May)
- Annual dinner at the Great Hall, Parliament House (Thursday 7 May)
- Annual symposium (Friday 8 May)
- morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea, Wednesday to Friday inclusive
- folder containing program information for Science at the Shine Dome
Education workshops
This year the education workshop will be held offsite in the afternoon on Thursday 7 May.
