ACADEMY SCIENCE TEACHER AWARDS
20 February 2004

The Australian Academy of Science is offering awards for one science teacher from each State and Territory to attend the Academy’s annual three-day conference, Science at the Shine Dome, in May. Applications close on 12 March 2004.

The application form and details are at http://www.science.org.au/sats2004/ta.htm.

We would be grateful if you could circulate this information and encourage teachers to apply.

Teacher feedback from previous years shows how valuable the experience is:

  • It was certainly the brightest professional development opportunity I have had the pleasure to undertake in many years.

  • Brilliant, highly relevant and I am able to utilise this in my classes.

  • A fabulous opportunity that should be attended by as many teachers as possible.

  • The passion I saw in the professionals involved in the event will inspire me for some time.

  • I have gained lots of ideas... and am more motivated with the stories of real research and am excited to share them.

  • Each day since I have found associations between what my students are learning in class and topics covered...

  • I have some great ideas now about cutting edge science that all staff can use.
