MEASURING EXCELLENCE IN RESEARCH SYMPOSIUM
4 June 2004

The 'Measuring excellence in research and research training' symposium was held at The Shine Dome, Canberra, on 22 June 2004. It focussed on reviewing current approaches to the measurement of excellence in research and research training and identifying options for improvement.

  • Hear whether a light touch UK-style research assessment exercise might be implemented in Australia.
  • Find out what industry thinks is excellent in research.
  • Hear views from all four Learned Academies.
  • Hear views from breakout discussion groups.

The symposium was organised by the National Academies Forum. Further information on the conference program and proceedings is available at www.naf.org.au/researchexcellence/index.htm.
