SCIENCE AT THE SHINE DOME

The Australian Academy of Science is holding its annual Science at the Shine Dome conference at The Shine Dome, Gordon Street, Canberra on 5-7 May 2004. The three-day program includes:
Wednesday 5 May, 9.30am-4.00pm
New Fellows Seminar
New Academy Fellows will each present a 10-minute talk about their research, followed by an opportunity for questions and discussion.
Wednesday 5 May, 6.00-7.30pm
Launch of 50th anniversary exhibition
To mark the Academy’s 50th anniversary, the travelling exhibition Eureka moments! Highlights of 50 years of Australian science will be launched at the National Museum of Australia.
Thursday 6 May, 9.30am-1.20pm
Awards presentation
Admission of Fellows and presentations by winners of awards for research excellence.
Friday 7 May, 8.50am-3.25pm
Annual symposium A celebration of Australian science
The symposium features eight of Australia's top young scientists all previous winners of the Malcolm McIntosh Prize for Physical Scientist of the Year or the Science Minister's Prize for Life Scientist of the Year. The program is available at www.science.org.au/sats2004/symposium.htm.
