Daniel Heard started writing while still in high school, beginning with science fiction short stories. Soon afterwards he became an explainer and science show performer at Questacon, the National Science and Technology Centre. It was this role that first ignited his interest in communicating science to the public. When he commenced study at the Australian National University (ANU) he became a contributor to Woroni, the university's student publication. Daniel graduated from the ANU with Bachelor degrees in Law and Science, majoring in molecular biology. When not writing he works as a business analyst, and enjoys surfing and snowboarding.
