'DO-IT-YOURSELF' INSERVICE WORKSHOP

The Academy's 'Do-it-yourself' inservice workshop package consists of a DVD and booklet with overhead masters. The workshop covers the instructional model, co-operative learning, classroom organisation, equipment and assessment.

The booklet enables any teacher in the school to act as a facilitator. It gives step-by-step instructions on leading discussions, running a hands-on activity, and arranging peer teaching. The DVD compensates for the lack of a qualified trainer on-site by allowing teachers to 'visit' schools, view children as they work, and hear about classroom organisation and assessment strategies from teachers who have implemented Primary Investigations successfully.
