Working hard at the workshop: Professional Learning Facilitators Monique Hill, Brianna Moloney and Julie Belohlawek, Perth, September 2006
|
PrimaryConnections is first and foremost a professional learning programme for
teachers, supported by quality curriculum resources.
The
first group of 88 PrimaryConnections Professional Learning Facilitators
trained in January 2006 were invited to the second round of follow-up workshops
this year, aimed at ongoing facilitation training and an opportunity to share
and disseminate information. The workshops were held in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane and the facilitators attended in their state
groups. This allowed the facilitators a chance to network with their colleagues.
The
workshops included the following activities:
- Discussing successful Professional Learning Facilitator activities occurring across the states
- Problem solving activities
- Generating and answering questions
- Consolidating the link between science and literacy
- Experiencing an approach to facilitating learning about the 5Es model of teaching and learning
- Sharing jurisdiction activities and issues
In January 2007, a
further group will be trained as Professional Learning Facilitators for the PrimaryConnections project. The workshop
will be held at the Australian Academy of Science in Canberra from 17-19 January.
