Professional Learning Facilitator recall
The final Stage 4 Professional Learning Facilitator recall days were held in February and March in Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney. Facilitators were updated on the project and introduced to the future of a not-for-profit business model for professional learning.
User-pays professional learning
We have completed the Stage 4 contract with the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR). This has led to the establishment of user-pay professional learning being offered around the country, facilitated by PrimaryConnections Learning Advisors.
PrimaryConnections Learning Advisors
Expressions of interest for contracted positions as PrimaryConnections Learning Advisors (PCLA) were requested earlier this year. This was followed by a two-day training event for PCLAs held in Sydney. The participants were PrimaryConnections Professional Learning Facilitators, Tertiary Facilitators or Master Facilitators. This workshop prepared facilitators to work for the Academy in the new not-for-profit business model. In June, the first PrimaryConnections Curriculum Leader training event facilitated by a PCLA was held in Perth, and was a great success. Other events are scheduled for the rest of this year, with details available on the website.
Professional learning calendar
A new page on the PrimaryConnections website has been set up with a list of all professional learning events run by the PrimaryConnections project. The professional learning calendar and booking forms can be found here: http://www.science.org.au/primaryconnections/professional-learning-programme/plc.html
I would like to thank everyone involved in professional learning during 2012. It was a pleasure to work with you.
