In October and November 2009, a one-day Recall Workshop was conducted for Professional Learning Facilitators (PLFs) in Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide and Ross (Tasmania). PLFs energetically participated in sessions which focussed on reconnecting and discussing issues and ideas in their states; exploring and trialling new ideas for professional learning sessions on Indigenous Perspectives in science and the processes around the discourses of science, in particular argumentation; as well as discussing plans for Stage 4 of the project.

The consensus was that the PLF recall days have great benefit for PLFs, keeping them informed, engaged and energised for their role, as is evident in the  photographs which show some of PLFs taking part in various processes during the course of the recall day. Students can be seen making observations and representing their results using the “literacies of science”!

The PLFs continue to work with teachers and students using PrimaryConnections to improve science and literacy learning and teaching, and through this connection everyone involved is building knowledge and skills about science linked with literacy.
