Science at the Shine Dome

The Academy launched Science at the Shine Dome in conjunction with National Science Week and the Australian Science Festival. This three-day event, held from 2 to 4 May 2001, was open to the public.
Science at the Shine Dome included the following public activities:
New Fellows seminar
About 20 new Academy Fellows each presented 12-minute talks about their research.
Awards presentation
Admission of Fellows, the Burnet Lecture and presentations by awardees.
Program and citations (PDF file, 1185KB)
Public symposium
Entitled Cracking the code using the code: The Human Genome Project and its applications, this symposium looked at the impact of genomic research on society.
