Early-career researchers program

The Australian Academy of Science is offering a special program for early-career researchers, outlined below, in conjunction with Science at the Shine Dome. Those who attend will:

learn about the latest research across a range of science disciplines;
meet and exchange ideas with renowned scientists, science teachers and other early-career researchers; and
participate in a career development workshop.

Wednesday 4 May
9.30am-4.00pm Wark Theatre, Shine Dome	New Fellows seminar New Academy Fellows each presented 10-minute talks about their research.
7.30-9.30pm Jaeger Room, Shine Dome	Informal dinner Short presentations were made by early-career researchers and award winners.
Thursday 5 May
9.30am-1.10pm Wark Theatre, Shine Dome	Awards presentation Admission of Fellows and presentations by award winners.
2.30-4.30pm	Career development workshops Presentations on two themes. Stream 1 (Shine Dome) Media and communication skills Stream 2 (Ian Potter House) Writing grant proposals
7.00 for 7.30pm Great Hall, Parliament House	Annual dinner Early-career researchers were seated amongst Fellows and teachers.
Friday 6 May
8.50am-4.30pm Wark Theatre, Shine Dome	Annual symposium Recent advances in stem cell science and therapies This symposium featured eminent Australian and overseas researchers. Program
