This event included the New Fellows Seminar, awards presentation, education workshop and annual symposium. The topic of the symposium was Recent advances in stem cell science and therapies.

Those who attended

  • met and spoke with renowned scientists and young researchers
  • exchanged ideas and curriculum materials with interstate colleagues.
The awards included
  • free registration for all the Science at the Shine Dome events on 4-6 May
  • return airfares to Canberra
  • lunches and morning and afternoon teas on 4-6 May
  • a formal dinner on 5 May with Fellows of the Academy and an informal dinner with young researchers on 4 May
  • accommodation for the nights of 4 and 5 May (also 3 May for participants from Western Australia and the Northern Territory).
The awards were open to primary and secondary teachers. Selection was based on merit.
