Curriculum Resources

Three curriculum resources were developed and trialled in 2010. They model an inquiry-based approach to teaching science. Each of the resources aligns with the Australian Curriculum: Science and deals with one or more of the three strands: Science Understanding, Science as a Human Endeavour and Science Inquiry Skills.

Enough Water fit for Drinking (click images for sample content)

This unit is an inquiry-based exploration of contemporary issues associated with water. It focuses on the role science plays in sustainable water management. The student resource has a strong digital component.

Doing Science Investigations (click images for sample content)

This unit enables students to develop skills necessary to complete their own open-ended science investigations. It is linked with the CSIRO’s CREST Award program.

Inquiry: DIY guide (click images for sample content)

This resource provides a step-by-step guide for adapting existing resources towards a more inquiry-based approach.
