Prof Gilles Guillemin has been studying several types of viruses, including Syncytial respiratory virus (CRV) in France, coronaviruses in Canada, and did his PhD Thesis on HIV and SIV infection in brain in primates in Paris before moving to Australia for a postdoctoral formation on HIV and brain damage. He is the lead scientist of the PANDIS consortium, a large project studying the impact of microorganisms on human health.
