Janet Wong

Dr Janet Wong is a haematologist at Australian Red Cross Blood Service with over 20 years’ experience in transfusion medicine. She holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from The University of Sydney and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia. In her role at the Blood Service, Dr Wong’s responsibilities include the coordination and executive support of national clinical stakeholder groups, such as the National Blood Transfusion Committee; working in collaboration with the National Blood Authority on the implementation of government immunoglobulin policy; provision of medical expertise to support the Blood Service’s customer service delivery and health professional communications; clinical stakeholder relationship management for plasma-derived product  suppliers, including pharmacovigilance responsibilities relating to these products; and coordination of feedback from the clinical sector regarding requests for new products and services.
