Katie Glass

Katie Glass heads the Infectious Disease Epidemiology and Modelling group at the Australian National University. She has a PhD in applied mathematics from the University of Cambridge, and over 15 years of experience in developing mathematical and statistical models of infectious disease transmission. Her research includes modelling the effect of control measures on diseases such as flu and Ebola, and she has a long-standing involvement with health policy in planning for a pandemic of influenza. She also combines mathematical and statistical models with genetic data for bacteria such as Salmonella and Campylobacter to estimate how much foodborne illness there is in Australia, and the likely sources of these infections.
