Dr Tom Vigilante is a fire ecologist currently working for Bush Heritage Australia and Wunambal Gaambera Aboriginal Corporation. Tom undertook a PhD on the ecology of aboriginal burning in the North Kimberley through Charles Darwin University. He was involved in the establishment of Aboriginal Savanna Burning Projects under the Carbon Farming Initiative in the Kimberley. In his current role, he continues to assists Wunambal Gaambera people with their burning program and established carbon project. He is involved in a number of research projects on topics such as monsoon vine thickets, grazing and fire.
