Marion Burgess

 

Marion Burgess has over 40 years’ experience in acoustics. She commenced testing the acoustic performance of building materials while at the Experimental Building Station in Sydney, then worked in building acoustics and environmental noise studies (in particular road traffic noise) while at the School of Architecture, University of New South Wales.

In the mid-1980s she moved to Canberra and has been working for the Acoustics and Vibration Unit of the University of New South Wales, Canberra, since then. Her work includes lecturing in environmental and workplace noise as well as organising and participating in noise and vibration short courses. She also undertakes research, sponsored projects and consulting in environmental and occupational noise measurement, analysis and assessment.
