New resources for Primary Connections

New curriculum units

Following extensive trialling in more than 20 schools, three Primary Connections curriculum units were published in February:

• Magnetic moves (Year 4) Physical Sciences
• Bend it! Stretch it! (Year 1) Chemical Sciences
• Growing well (Foundation) Biological Sciences

The new units provide alternatives to some of the 31 existing units, giving teachers greater flexibility and choice to create engaging lessons in primary school science.

Interactive teaching resources

Primary Connections has also released its first four online interactive teaching resources, with a further six titles to be published by mid-year. Teachers are able to purchase these directly from the Primary Connections website as downloadable files.

These new resources are designed to be used alongside Primary Connections’ current print units, allowing teachers to work with interactive versions of all the student activities in the units using electronic whiteboards to help bring science alive in the classroom. Based on the trial feedback, Primary Connections is expecting a very positive response.
