Lidia Morawska’s diverse research involves significant, ground-breaking studies of applied physics in the areas of radiation physics, environmental physics, and atmospheric physics. She is recognised as one of the world’s foremost authorities on airborne particulate matter in the context of atmospheric pollution and its sources, as well as its impact upon human health and the environment. Her pioneering work has been internationally recognised by prestigious awards, invited plenary presentations, and well cited publications. Morawska has also been recognised by appointments to national and international professional bodies, including as an advisor to the World Health Organization.
