The Academy promotes Australian scientific capabilities internationally, facilitates access to international research programs and contributes expertise and leadership in regional and global science networks.
The Academy organises bilateral international meetings, symposia and workshops to identify potential collaborative research opportunities in areas of mutual interest, as well as exchange and mobility programs for researchers to establish strategic international partnerships.
The Academy is an active member of the InterAcademy Panel – the global network of science academies – the InterAcademy Council and the Association of Academies and Societies of Science in Asia. It is also responsible for Australia’s representation on the International Council for Science, as well as relevant international scientific unions and interdisciplinary bodies that convene scientists across disciplinary boundaries to coordinate research to address issues of global significance.
