Australian Ambassador to Mexico visits the Academy

The Australian Ambassador to Mexico Mr Tim George, and Ms Lisa Davidson from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, visited the Academy recently to discuss the Academy’s international activities and links with Mexico. Academy Fellow Dr TJ Higgins and Director International Programs Nancy Pritchard represented the Academy at this meeting.

The Academy plans to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) soon with the Mexican Academy of Sciences to formalise the interest of both countries to facilitate research cooperation. Australia and Mexico share common interests and challenges in the areas of energy and food security, water management and mining. These areas provide an opportunity to enhance bilateral research collaborations.
