The Australian Academy of Science, on behalf of the Australian Government Department of Industry, Innovation, Climate Change, Science, Research and Tertiary Education (DIICCSRTE) invites applications from Australian researchers wishing to establish or enhance collaborative projects with their German counterparts.
The Australian Government is providing up to AUD170,000 in 2013-2014 with matched funding being provided by the German Government.
The German-Australian Mobility Call 2013-2014 (‘mobility call’) is a one-off funding source to facilitate bilateral research. Travel funding is provided for Australian researchers to visit Germany (up to three months per trip) between 1 November 2013 and 31 October 2014 to work on collaborative research projects with German counterparts. Funding supports international travel and living expenses only; not direct research costs.
Furthering collaboration between Australia and Germany was the focus of the Joint Science and Technology Meeting held between the two countries on 19 October 2012. The meeting provided an opportunity for Australia and Germany to share expert knowledge on global challenges in the areas of preventative health and biodiversity in the form of two research workshops. Outcomes of the workshops are attached and should provide some insight into the objectives of the mobility call on biodiversity and preventative health.
