Science at the Shine Dome 2015: Registrations now open

January 09, 2015

Registrations are now open for Science at the Shine Dome 2015, the Academy's annual flagship event. With the theme 'Minerals to medicines: 100 years of X-ray crystallography', the Symposium celebrates the huge and growing impact of crystallography.

In 1912 Adelaide-born Lawrence Bragg conceived his famous equation describing the interatction between X-rays and crystals. His formulation enables us to see atoms in simple structures like diamond and complex materials like DNA. The impact on physics, chemistry and biology has been world-changing.

Science at the Shine Dome will also feature talks from some of Australia's most distinguished scientists, and promising young researchers in a range of scientific fields. New Fellows of the Academy will be formally admitted and the Academy's annual awards and medals awarded.

All are welcome to register for this special event, to be held in Canberra during the last week of May 2015.
