Can you believe that 2018 is more than half over? We hope that all you EMCRs are having a productive and fulfilling 2018! Check out what we have been up to here.

It is a pleasure to welcome Jana Phan to the EMCR Forum support team. Thank you to Jana, Sandra Gardam and Laura Navarro for your time in putting Pathways together and all your support for the Forum.

In this issue we have the stories of a once-in-a-lifetime experience from some of the young scientists who attended the 68th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting. We also have a ‘Spotlight on EMCR Group’ story on the 2018 Oceanic Nutrition Leadership Platform and a piece by Josh Hixson, an Adelaide-based EMCR, on his recent experience at the Research Data Science Winter School, a Theo Murphy Initiative (Australia).

We also go On the job with… Amelia Tomkins, a postdoctoral scientist at the Heart Research Institute and Conjoint Associate Lecturer at the University of Sydney. And, of course, we have another instalment of our EMCR Forum Agony Aunt.

We welcome your contributions for future issues of EMCR Pathways—do you have questions, comments and bold ideas for securing the future of Australian science? Let us know! If you have attended an EMCR-focused event or are part of an EMCR group we would love to hear about it for our ‘Spotlight on EMCR Groups’, ‘A day on the job with’ and ‘Inspiring EMCRs’ sections. Please get in touch if you know of a group doing cool things for EMCRs that should be featured. You can reach us by email.
