Mike Smith Student Prize for History of Australian Science or Australian Environmental History

The $3000 prize will be awarded for an essay based on original unpublished research undertaken whilst enrolled as a student (postgraduate or undergraduate) at any tertiary educational institution in the world.

Japan Society for the Promotion of Science fellowships

The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Postdoctoral Fellowships for Foreign Researchers provides opportunities for Australian postdoctoral researchers to conduct, under the guidance of their Japanese hosts, cooperative research with leading research groups in universities and other Japanese institutions.

Applications for JSPS Fellowships for 2022 are invited from researchers in any field of the physical sciences, life sciences, engineering, technology and medicine.

Fellowships are awarded for a period of 12–24 months and include flights, a monthly maintenance allowance, a settling-in allowance and insurance coverage.

Indigenous STEM Awards 

The Indigenous STEM Awards recognise, reward and celebrate the achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and scientists who are studying and working in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) field, as well as the integral role schools, teachers and mentors have in supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in pursuing STEM education and careers. The awards also recognise the immense value of connecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students with inspirational STEM role models, both Indigenous and non-Indigenous.
