Risk analysis, nutrition, advanced fabrication and microbiomes were among the topics approved recently by the Royal Society (Australia) Pty Ltd (RSA) Board for a three-year forward program of Theo Murphy events. The topics were chosen by the Academy’s Executive Committee from suggestions provided by Fellows, the National Committees for Science and the EMCR Forum.

Think Tanks focus on areas of national significance and public interest, while Frontiers of Science events address areas of interdisciplinary research. These events are supported by the Theo Murphy (Australia) Fund which is administered by the UK Royal Society via the RSA.

The Fellows representing the Academy on the RSA board are currently Professors Ron Ekers FAA FRS, Trevor Lamb FAA FRS, John White CMG FAA FRS and Bob Williamson AO FAA FRS.

The Theo Murphy event program for 2015–17 is outlined below. The titles will be subject to review, and may be revised by the groups that organise the events.
