President visits Queensland and NSW Fellows

Academy President Professor Andrew Holmes AM PresAA FRS FTSE visited Brisbane and Sydney recently to meet with Queensland and NSW Fellows for informal discussions about the Academy’s activities and initiatives.

At social gatherings hosted by Professor Perry Bartlett FAA at the Queensland Brain Institute and Professor Steve Simpson FAA FRS at the Charles Perkins Centre, Professor Holmes spoke with Fellows about the Academy’s work in education, policy, public awareness of science and building international scientific relationships.

Professor Holmes also discussed the Academy’s fundraising successes and plans for the future.

In Queensland he was joined by Director Communications and Outreach Kylie Walker, Fellows and Awards Manager Karen Holt and, at the New South Wales event, by Ms Walker, Ms Holt and Director International Programs Nancy Pritchard.

Professor Holmes plans to visit Fellows in other states and territories in the coming months.
