Two Australian consortia have been selected to receive funding of up to $200,000 each under the Australia – European Union Collaboration Program 2014, managed by the Academy on behalf of the Australian Government. Each consortium consists of at least three participants from Australian public and private sector research organisations and industry.

The two projects are ‘Next generation of 3D multifunctional coatings for biomedical applications (NEXT-3D)’ and ‘Breast cancer risk after diagnostic gene sequencing (BRIDGES)’.

The Australia – European Union Collaboration Program brokers strategic research partnerships with the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 program and supports strategic cooperative research with Europe.

Funding for this program was provided by the Department of Industry and Science.
