Pallets of primary connections resourcesTwo hundred thousand dollars worth of educational resources were sent to schools in need in Vanuatu yesterday by the the Australian Academy of Science’s primary school science program, Primary Connections.

The science education resources were part of 11.5 tonnes of goods donated as part of a charity drive started by the Olinda Ferny Creek Football Netball Club, a community sports club from Victoria.

The donated resources are for primary school aged children from foundation to year 7 and include books and DVDs teaching a range of scientific concepts.

Deakin University will help schools and students in Vanuatu use the resources through their Global Experience Program which sends pre-service teachers to teach in international and remote communities.

Along with the educational resources, the club has also sent medical, trade and sporting goods which are destined to arrive in Vanuatu in September.
