Academy nominee selected to meet leading mathematicians

September 22, 2014

Alex Amenta

An Australian PhD student, nominated by the Australian Academy of Science, has been selected to attend the prestigious Heidelberg Laureates Forum in Germany.

Alex Amenta from the Australian National University is attending the forum, which brings together winners of the Abel Prize and Fields Medal (mathematics), and the Turing Award and Nevanlinna Prize (computer science) with young mathematicians and scientists.

The selection process is highly competitive with only one hundred spaces available worldwide for PhD students and early-career researchers in each discipline of mathematics and computer science.

The forum runs from 21 to 26 September.
