Details

Through the Theo Murphy Initiative (Australia), the Academy will conduct up to 4 activities and events annually to support Australia’s early- and mid-career researcher (EMCR) community. The purpose of these activities is to provide tangible benefits to EMCRs to support their careers and ultimately further scientific discovery.

Activities can be held anywhere in Australia between 1 July 2020 and 30 June 2021.

On 31 January 2018 the Academy made a submission to the Department of Home Affairs’ public consultation on managing Australia’s migration intake.

Message from the Chief Executive

Happy 64th birthday to the Australian Academy of Science, and congratulations to Fellows.

On 15 February 2018 the Academy made a submission to the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Intelligence and Security review of the Foreign Influence Transparency Scheme Bill 2017.

Professor Michael (Mike) Dopita AM FAA pledged his bequest for the future of science in Australia.
