Early- and mid-career researchers may be interested in the following events, networks and other opportunities.
With the generous support of the Theo Murphy (Australia) Fund, the Academy conducts a variety of events and activities annually which support the careers of Australia’s EMCR community. EMCR Forum members are eligible to propose activities through the Initiative and if selected will work with the Academy to deliver them. The Theo Murphy (Australia) Fund has previously supported High Flyer Think Tanks and Australian Frontiers of Science symposia. These activities can still be proposed through the Initiative, which is also open to accept other activities.
Science at the Shine Dome is an annual three-day event held by the Australian Academy of Science. It incorporates the Academy's annual general meeting, induction of new Fellows, presentation of awards and a scientific symposium. In addition there is a special program for EMCRs including professional development workshops and the opportunity to network with Fellows of the Academy.
Science Pathways is the national meeting of the Australian Early- and Mid-Career Researcher (EMCR) Forum—the national voice of Australia's future scientific leaders. It focuses on helping EMCRs gain the skills they need to build a successful career in science.
See the Academy's page containing a range of opportunities for scientists. There are honorific awards for recognition specifically for EMCRs, as well as research funding and travel opportunities that may be of interest.
