Declaration of Open Disclosure - Candidates for Ordinary Election

All new and continuing candidates for Ordinary Fellowship Election of the Australian Academy of Science must complete the Declaration of Open Disclosure form - 2024 Round in order to be considered in this round.

The link (further below) provides access to the digital declaration form. When you (the candidate) have completed the form, a copy will be automatically emailed to you, for your reference, and to your proposer for them to upload into the online Fellowship nomination system. Please note that your proposer will need time to review your responses and upload your form into the nomination system in order to submit your Fellowship nomination by 31 August 2023.

You are advised to complete this form at your earliest convenience (and by mid-August at the latest). (It may assist your proposer if you let them know when you complete the form, so they can look-out for the email notification from DocuSign).

Additional resources for candidates

As part of their declaration, candidates for Ordinary Election are asked whether concerns have been raised about any of their publications, including in the literature of post-publication peer review websites such as ‘Retraction Watch’ or ‘PubPeer’?

If yes, candidates are asked whether responses have been made in accordance with the NHMRC Authorship Guide that supports the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research (2018), particularly Section 4 which clearly states the responsibilities of all co-authors pre and post-publication?

Please note that the NHMRC Authorship Guide is also referenced by the ARC https://www.arc.gov.au/policies-strategies/policy/codes-and-guidelines.
