Nanotechnology pioneer Distinguished Professor Chennupati Jagadish AC FAA FTSE will become the next President of Australia’s premier science organisation, the Australian Academy of Science.

 

The articles in the 2021 virtual issue of Historical Records of Australian Science, edited by Hilary Howes and Matthew Spriggs, explore the history of archaeology in Australasia and the Pacific and have diverse origins.

The Thomas Davies Research Grant for Marine, Soil and Plant Biology for 2022 has been awarded.

Three early-career researchers have been awarded funding for ecology projects in 2022 thanks to the Australian Academy of Science’s Margaret Middleton Fund for endangered Australian native vertebrate animals.

Academy opportunities Japan Society for the Promotion of Science fellowships

The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Postdoctoral Fellowships for Foreign Researchers provides opportunities for Australian postdoctoral researchers to conduct, under the guidance of their Japanese hosts, cooperative research with leading research groups in universities and other Japanese institutions.

Applications for JSPS Fellowships for 2022 are invited from researchers in any field of the physical sciences, life sciences, engineering, technology and medicine.
